Biography
Adam Struzik is a Master’s degree student in Data Analysis and Data Processing at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. His interests focus on entity resolution, population size estimation, machine learning, and spatial data analysis.
He holds the position of Specialist at the Centre for Urban Statistics of the Statistical Office in Poznań, where he has been working on several projects supported by Eurostat grants. He is also employed as a contractor on the research project Towards census-like statistics for foreign-born populations – quality, data integration and estimation, funded by the National Science Centre, OPUS 20 grant no. 2020/39/B/HS4/00941.
Adam Struzik regularly presents the results of his work at scientific conferences and seminars, and has authored several papers in statistics. Additionally, he contributes to open-source software by developing R packages for entity resolution. He serves as the maintainer of automatedRecLin and is one of the authors of blocking.
In January 2026, his paper Capturing Small Discrepancies in Record Linkage: A Maximum Entropy Framework with Continuous Similarity Measures won an award in the Student Paper Competition organised by the American Statistical Association. In May 2026, Adam Struzik won the Polish Student Nobel Prize competition. He was selected as the best student in the Economic Sciences category.
In the OJALAB project, he is responsible for proposing a new approach for estimating the number of vacancies based solely on online and administrative data, using capture-recapture and latent class analysis methods.
